Meet Tre’von Gladmon: Youth of the Year for John H. Harland Boys & Girls Club: The Innovation & Expression Studio

When did you start coming to the Club?

My experience at Boys & Girls Club started at the W.W. Woolfolk Boys & Girls Club when I was seven years old. I’m a member of the Harland Boys & Girls Club now.

What types of activities are you involved with?

I’m in several activities like the CareerBound professional development program, Keystone teen community service and positive leadership program, and basketball, and fine arts.

Has your Club helped you overcome any challenges?

Because of Mr. Ruben, I’m more comfortable with public speaking. He encourages me to push myself out of my comfort zone so that I can grow and use my voice to help the younger generation.

What type of volunteer projects have you done?

I helped prepare snacks for Club members. I also helped build a grill at Harland to feed the community.

What types of internships or career development experiences have you done?

I interned at a barber shop.

What are your goals after graduating from high school?

I’d like to go to Full Sail University to study graphic design.

What’s your career goal?

I’d like to do animation for movies.

If you could change anything in the world, what would it be?

Protect the environment.
