Hello and thank you for stopping by, my name is Marla Jackson and I am the Director of the Thomasville Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta. I have been with BGCMA for two years however Thomasville is my new home. I’m a graduate of Florida State University, and a native of Jacksonville, FL. I went to college wanting to be a teacher however I came back with a degree in Interdisciplinary Social Science and a new found passion for helping youth in areas that needed me the most.
I want to ensure ever parent/guardian that we offer a safe place for all members to learn and grow. The most important lessons are usually not learned in the classroom and that is why I love afterschool. It is our opportunity to build relationships with our members and help them navigate through life. I love when the community and families come together to support the youth because I feel as though it teaches all parties involved a valuable lesson.
The Thomasville Boys & Girls Club offers a variety of programs for members that focus on academics, character & leadership as well as healthy lifestyles. We want our members to have the opportunity to find a positive outlet and help them prepare for their future. We offer activities from members elementary school-age members to high school-age members.
