Sincere Young has been a Club member for more than 10 years. The Club has helped him realize that if you don’t like your current situation, you can do something about it. The 17-year-old has taken this advice and mentored other Club members with their homework, challenging them to think outside of the box.

Sincere says big thinking has enabled him to mark history this year when he became the first Youth of the Year representative for Camp Kiwanis, a year-round residence camp that provides a positive, challenging outdoor experience to the youth served by Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta.

He says experiences like nature hikes, archery, kayaking, fishing, and other activities offered through Camp Kiwanis have shaped him into the leader he is today. Sincere wants other teens to discover their potential, too.

“I want to inspire kids to find the light; no matter what they are going through. There is hope.”

Sincere is an active member of Keystone, a teen community service and leadership program, and College Bound, a program that prepares teens for college.

This fall, Sincere has plans to attend Texas A&M University on a full-ride scholarship to study biomedical engineering. He wants to use the skills he acquires to make prosthetics for kids.
