Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta introduces John H. Harland Boys & Girls Club: The Innovation and Expression Studio (TIES)!

Take a look inside our exciting new facility that will serve as a hub for arts and innovation where kids and teens can learn critical skills, find and nurture their passion, and showcase and perform their work in the heart of Atlanta’s Westside.

Our focus will remain the same – helping kids to reach their full potential – but we will use a creative youth development approach driven by arts, innovation, and expression.

The new Club will serve even more kids and teens, reaching more than 200 youth each day, including our current members from the John H. Harland Club and additional kids in the surrounding community.

Programs will center on the following areas:

  • Visual arts – with programs such as drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, photography, filmmaking, sculpture, textile arts, and graphic design.
  • Performing arts- with programs such as theatre, puppetry, dance, music, spoken word, and public speaking.
  • Culinary arts – with programs such as cooking, gardening, and overall dining etiquette.

Whether kids are learning through visual, performing, or culinary arts, the Club will focus on helping them build the skills they need to succeed in school, live healthy, and become leaders.

Kids and teens will walk away with an appreciation for the arts, exposure to and understanding of different cultures, and art-focused and critical thinking skills they can use for years to come.

The Innovation & Expression Studio is slated to open late 2018.
