Grade: 11th

When did you join your Club?

I was 14 years old! This is my third year at the Club.

What types of activities are you involved with?

I’m in the CareerBound program. It teaches me the importance of learning new skills that can prepare me for jobs; things like how to dress in a business environment, how to apply to build a resume and other things that will help me succeed after high school. I also participated in coding camp. It helped me develop skills I’ll need in the future.

Has your Club helped you overcome any challenges?

My CareerBound advisor, Ms. Robin, introduced me to a lot of teens at my Club. She helped me overcome my shyness and intimidation of speaking to adults. I’m more confident now because of her encouragement.

Why is it important for teens to speak up?

Teens are the future!

What type of volunteer projects have you done?

I volunteer at church and give food to homeless families.

What types of internships have you done?

The lessons I learned in my Club have helped me secure hands-on experience in IT. I worked with the IT department at Schumacher Clinical Partners.

What are your goals after graduating from high school?

I want to go to college and study computer science.

What’s your career goal?

I want to work in coding and IT.

If you could change anything in the world, what would it be?

Justice – changing the laws to benefit all people.
