Cheers To Charlie! Meet Metro Atlanta’s New Board Chair
February 1, 2022 BGCMA

The Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta (BGCMA) is thrilled to welcome Charlie Henn as our new Board Chair!

“I was inspired to join the Board seven years ago after attending a Youth of the Year dinner, where I got to see first-hand the impact BGCMA has on Atlanta’s youth,” said Henn, a partner at Kilpatrick Townsend where he represents companies in trademark infringement cases. “As Board Chair, I look forward to working with our dozens of incredible Board volunteers to help our Club staff ignite the unlimited potential of kids and teens in all 26 Clubs across Metro Atlanta.”

As chair of our Board of Directors, Henn will lead the strategic direction of BGCMA alongside top-notch professionals from a myriad of backgrounds who comprise our three-tiered governance structure:

  1. Trustees: our 10-member advisory group of influential and well-connected individuals with limited time but an endless passion for our mission and vision.
  2. Board of Directors: our governing body of approximately 40 Board Members are responsible for providing strategic leadership, ensuring financial stability, serving as ambassadors for the organization, supporting & supervising the CEO, and ensuring healthy governance.
  3. County Boards: our advisory groups of approximately 170 community-based leaders are established in each of the 10 counties we serve. They are responsible for advocating and securing resources for the Club(s) in their county.

Henn has served as counsel and a member of our Board of Directors since 2014 and most recently chaired the Resource Development and Marketing Committee.

He is currently kicking off his tenure as Board Chair by touring all 26 BGCMA Clubs and personally meeting with all BGCMA Executive Directors. Thus far, Henn has visited our At Promise West, Matthews, Grant, Centers for New Generation at Tuskegee Airmen Global Academy (CNG @TAG), Douglas County, Whitehead, Paulding County, Warren, East DeKalb, Barksdale, Mimms, and Thomasville Heights, and Anderson Clubs.
