Success Story

Teens today face drugs, crime and violence. But Jay chooses the Club.

Jay

Since the first time Jay walked into his Boys & Girls Club nine years ago, he has never wanted to miss a day.

He loves basketball, music, gardening and watching old action movies – everything a normal teenager enjoys!

There are many influences that can negatively affect a 15-year-old boy’s life. Jay, however, chooses to come to his Club and participate in leadership programs geared to help him improve his skills, his grades and his overall life knowledge.

Through Keystone, College Bound, Passport to Manhood, Goals for Graduation, Money Matters and countless other programs, Jay steers clear of trouble and is surrounded with positive friends. He voluntarily chooses to participate in teen programs at his Club instead of roaming the streets.

His mom has seen an improvement in his overall behavior since belonging to the Club and improvement in his math grades since receiving tutoring at the Club.

Over the past nine years, Jay has developed into a true Boys & Girls Club role model. And, he loves his Club!
