Our results are remarkable — our children excel in school, extra curricular activities and their personal lives because of the stability, personal attention and special programs the Clubs provide.
Measurable Outcomes (National Statistics)
- Club members graduate from high school at a rate of 87 percent, compared to the national average of 66 percent.
- Club members finish college at a rate of 25 percent, far exceeding the national average of 16 percent.
- Club members show an average improvement of 12 percent in their grades at school.
- In Club neighborhoods, incidences of teen pregnancy and substance abuse arrests are cut by as much as 50 percent.
- 84 percent of Club members have learned about drug and alcohol prevention through Club programs, such as SMART Moves, which educates members about the dangers of drugs, alcohol, premature sexual activity and gang involvement.
- Of at-risk youth referred to Clubs, 94 percent have no further encounter with the law.
- More than 57 percent of Club alumni surveyed said that the Club saved their lives.

How College Bound helped Amanda’s Education
I thought high school was going to be easy and I wouldn’t have any problems; but when I got there, I definitely found some challenges. It was hard for me to transition to 9th grade.
Then, I joined the College Bound program at my Boys & Girls Club. My grades improved when I became involved, and for the past two years, I have made the honor roll!
My attitude has changed about school and graduating....
