December 16, 2008

Come help us finish painting the Social Circle Club on January 17, 2009 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. We started the project and didn’t get to finish.  We can’t let down the kids at the Club and really need your help to ensure that we keep our promise to them.  We need about 20 volunteers so please sign-up for an all day shift or for just the morning or just the afternoon.  Lunch will be provided for those individuals who work all day.

If you’re interested in volunteering, please e-mail clubblueservice@gmail.com.  After you sign-up you will receive additional information, including driving directions to the club.  All volunteers are encourage to bring a paint brushes or rollers (with extra rolls) to donate to the project!! You can volunteer to work part of the day or the whole day.

Background:

The staff at the Social Circle Boys & Girls Club is in great need of our help. They recently moved the club’s location to afford more children and teens the opportunity to attend on a regular basis, but the new location is in need of some TLC. With the economy being what it is today, the staff does not have the resources to make the club more appealing and engaging for their children and teens.

Boys & Girls Clubs are safe havens for thousands of young people in Metro Atlanta. Club Blue wants to help ensure that the Social Circle Club has the resources it needs and the atmosphere necessary to bring young people off of streets and into a warm, supportive and fun place - a place where promise lives!

Club Blue sponsored a Club Makeover project in December 2008 as an early holiday present for some very deserving young people at the Social Circle Club! The day was great with wonderful volunteers and a lot was accomplished. But, we must return in January to completely finish the job.

To make a difference in the lives of the young people at the Social Circle Boys & Girls Club, please contact clubblueservice@gmail.com. Thanks for your help!
