Donald McMahon

In Memory & Honor of Donald McMahon

Born February 20, 1931 in Brooklyn, New York, Mr. McMahon made his home in Atlanta since 1975. From 1975-1985, Mr. McMahon was President and CEO of Royal Crown Companies, Inc. From 1970-1975, he was President of Baker Industries in New Jersey. He began his business career in 1952 as a salesman with the Monroe Calculating Machine Co. in New York.

At the age of 35, McMahon became the youngest president in the company's history. As President of Monroe, he also served as Vice President of the parent company, Litton Industries of Beverly Hills, CA.

Mr. McMahon was a member of the following boards: Roper Corp., Richton International, Norrell Corp., Kidde, Inc., Intelligent Systems, Inc., and Colorocs Corp. In addition, he was the past chairman of the Board of Visitors of Emory University, member of the board for Georgetown University and St. Elizabeth's College.

Mr. McMahon was active with many Atlanta charities, including the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta, where he was a long-time supporter and served as Chairman in 1990. He was instrumental in the combining of the Boys Clubs and Girls Clubs into a single organization.

He held a Master's degree in Business Administration from Emory University. In 1985, McMahon became a member of the Sovereign Military Order of The Knights of Malta. 

His family has requested donations be made in his memory to: The Donald A. McMahon 1991 Scholarship Fund. He will be remembered and missed.
