Youth of the Year Named

Long-time member Devante Jarrell was recently named John P. & Joyce C. Stevens Boys & Girls Club Youth of the Year by a panel of Board Members. Devante is a truly gifted and well-rounded student who excels in leadership of others, academics and sports. In this past year, Devante has grown and matured into the respectful and altruistic young man that Club Staff always knew he could become. During the summer, Devante led fellow Club members in volunteering with Faith In Serving Humanity: FISH for Kids program, which distributes thousands of free sack lunches to the community’s hungry children. Devante persisted with hard work and dedication, serving three hours a day, five days a week during the entire summer break. Of many youth organizations that assisted this program, Devante and his group contributed most. In his tenure at the Club, Devante has come a long way and is living proof of the positive and transformative powers of the Boys & Girls Club.News
