Presentation by The Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys
June 18, 2008
Executive Director Darold Sims welcomed The Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys (GABWA) to the Woolfolk Club on June 18. GABWA members met with some 30 teen Club members to discuss alternative careers, aspects of criminal law and law proceedings, and to discourage the teens from activities that would bring them into the criminal system. Among the women who participated in the discussion were Judge Patsy Y. Porter, Fulton County State Court; Marcia Fuller, Defense Counsel, The Fuller Law Group; LaDawn Blackett-Jones, Fulton County, Zone 4 Prosecutor; and Kimani King, Fulton County, Zone 4 Prosecutor. Jewelle Johnson, GABWA member and Associate, Fisher & Phillips LLP, arranged for her colleagues to meet with the teens. Ms. Johnson is also a member of the West End Boys & Girls Club Board of Directors.
