Brief History
The Samuel L. Jones Club was founded in 1970 by citizens of Decatur, GA. The MABC bought five acres of Parkland from the city of Decatur, The Jaycees, Whitehead Foundation and Attorney Ron Armstrong, were very instrumental in Samuel L. Jones Club opening its doors in May 1970, modeling the facility after the John H. Harland Club, which is located in Atlanta, GA.

Our children's safety at the Clubs is our number one priority; therefore we require a background check on volunteers who work directly with our children. The completed application, along with a $6 money order for processing, should be mailed to:
