Council Member C.T. Martin and the Adamsville Recreation Center presents a Free Digital Literacy Class

Join us at The Adamsville Recreation Center on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 located at 3201 M.L.K. Jr Drive SW, Atlanta, GA 30311 for an interactive free workshop for students between the 8th – 12th grade. We’ll give students a computer of their own to work with, so they can put lessons into action afterward.

We’ll provide hands-on training from technology and business professionals. Students will hear about how computers impact a variety of jobs and career paths. We’ll talk about the history of technology, how it impacts our everyday expectations, tips for writing quality resumes, tricks for giving good interviews, and how to leave a positive digital footprint online.

The session includes tips on how students can build career paths and achieve their goals with technology. We’ll cover:

What’s inside a computer?

How can I turn my passion into a career and land the job I want?

How will technology change our careers and the world around us?

How can I use software and social media to change the future?

What we provide:

  • A device for each household represented at the session
  • Training from technology professionals
  • Food will be served

Please register under the student’s name. Only one person per household needs to register for the event. We encourage you to bring family and friends! If you are bringing additional people, please let us know during the registration process.
