Success Story
Morgan Wants to Help Others
Morgan Gort, member of the Paulding County Boys & Girls Club, received third runner up at the 2008 Youth of the Year dinner. She has been a member of the Club for three years and is a student at Paulding County High School.
She exemplifies leadership in her Club and is always there for her peers and younger members. She’s faced hard obstacles but always turns to the Club for help and guidance. Dealing with cancer in the family was not easy for a young girl. Her sister served as her role model, friend and mentor. When her family moved to Atlanta and her sister did not follow, Morgan felt lost and alone.
But, she found friends and support at the Paulding County Boys & Girls Club, which helped ease some of her pain. With faith and determination, she keeps moving in the right direction. She knows she will succeed if she puts her mind to it.
Morgan wants to become a teacher and help children who need guidance in their lives. Ultimately, she’d like to “build young girls’ confidence and help them see their inner beauty” – the way she was taught at her Club.
