Success Story
A Little Encouragement Goes A Long Way…
When Wayne came to his Boys & Girls Club, his negative attitude was reflected in his behavior and his grades at school. But a dedicated staff saw his potential and worked with him day in and day out so that Wayne would know his potential too.
As time past, the staff and Club members noticed a remarkable improvement in his attitude and interaction with others. He spent more time in the Learning Center and in Power Hour, which is a full hour dedicated to helping kids complete their homework. His grades began to improve and he was soon joining the leadership club, Torch Club, taking field trips with friends and even assisting staff where needed.
He is improving everyday and becoming a great Club member. “He is a beautiful child,” says the Club’s program director. “All he needed was a little encouragement — something his Boys & Girls Club was able to give him.”
