RA Sushi Grand Opening a Rockin' Good Time

September 23, 2009

On September 10, RA Sushi hosted its grand opening party for the new Atlanta location in Midtown. The night raised more than $4,000 with 100% of the proceeds donated to BGCMA and Club Blue. The money will support the programs at BGCMA.

With a totally 80s theme (see pictures), guests dressed up as Ghostbusters, punk rockers, Top Gun cast members, break dancers and more. Everything was big, bright and tubular! More than 300 young professionals enjoyed a complimentary sushi buffet, and a variety of drink specials. In addition to the great food, there was a disco floor and 80s music, trivia games, breakdancers, Ms Pac Man, a retro photo booth, and costume contest.

“We are excited to have opened a restaurant in Atlanta and were delighted that our grand opening party proceeds benefited such a great local organization," said Scott Kilpatrick, co-owner of Arizona-based RA Sushi. "RA Sushi believes in supporting our local communities and by partnering with outstanding non-profits like BGCMA we are able to contribute in a positive way. Knowing BGCMA is doing great things to help young people overcome adversity and excel in school and in life gave us a great incentive to raise funds at the party. The event was a lot of fun and we look forward to serving Atlantans for years to come.”

Club Blue & BGCMA thank RA Sushi and its employees for making the night such a success. And special thanks to Melissa Libby & Associates and Metromix.com (see pictures) for all of their support.
