Leading youth development non-profit begins a new era in changing children’s livesJanuary 15, 2009

ATLANTA (Jan. 15, 2009) – Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta (BGCMA), a non-profit focused on youth development for at-risk metro Atlanta children, today named William Lampley the new president and CPO for the organization. Lampley will replace Jerry Tipton who will retire as president and CPO.
Lampley was most recently the president of Strategic Accounts for the Eastern Region for Grubb & Ellis, a global real estate advisory firm. In this role, Lampley was responsible for 29 offices, 1,500 employees, and over $170MM in revenues. A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, Lampley started his career serving four years as an Artillery Officer with the US Army. Upon earning his MBA at the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, he embarked on a commercial real estate career. Prior to his most recent role, he was a senior vice president at Jones Lang LaSalle, and a principal with Kellogg Partners.
“We are excited to welcome William to BGCMA,” said Scott Greene, board chair of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta. “He is a successful business executive with a strong commitment to families and children and the ability to lead the organization into the future. As we continue to grow, even in an ailing economy, as an organization we must rely on strong leadership as well as committed supporters to keep us moving in the right direction. Our number one priority is to serve children in metro Atlanta and William’s appointment is a continued investment in our mission.”
“I am honored and humbled to have the opportunity to join such a powerful organization that has saved lives in the community for more than 70 years,” said Lampley. “My mother was a single parent when I was born. Her determination to provide me the best upbringing has impacted my life in significant ways, which fuels my passion and desire to make a difference in the lives of children. To join this organization of experienced youth development leaders is a tremendous opportunity, and I am ecstatic to be able to help improve the lives of so many of our children.”
Lampley, who is married and the father of four, lives in southwest Atlanta and will officially begin his role as president and CPO on February 2, 2009.
