DPR Construction Donated $40,000 to Brookhaven Boys & Girls Club
DPR’s first-time contribution to benefit the Club’s education programsDecember 18, 2008
ATLANTA (Dec. 18, 2008) – DPR Construction held a check presentation on December 17 at the Brookhaven Boys & Girls Club, part of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta (BGCMA). The company’s foundation awarded four grants for the first time in company history.
DPR believes in the educational components of Boys & Girls Club, and donated $40,000 to support its programs. An overview of the Club, a tour and a check presentation were held at the Club with ten executives from DPR Construction, including Gary Wohl, CFO for DPR; Andy Andres, Atlanta executive for DPR; Steve Bartkowski, former Atlanta Falcons quarterback and current DPR employee; and Brian Oliver, former Georgia Tech basketball player and current DRP employee.
Wohl, Andres, Bartkowski and Oliver spoke about the importance of community involvement for their company. They all talked about their personal investment in the youth of Atlanta and particularly the youth at Brookhaven Boys & Girls Club. The company plans to have its employees volunteer at the Club as part of their partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta.
Rodney Close, regional vice president for BGCMA; Bobby Dunn, executive director for Brookhaven Boys & Girls Club; and Missy Dugan, vice president of marketing and development for BGCMA welcomed DPR Construction and thanked the company for their involvement. Brookhaven’s Youth of the Year, Oskar Kigelman, also thanked the company and shared his Boys & Girls Club story with the group.
