September 19, 2008

(ATLANTA  – SEPTEMBER 19, 2008) – To commemorate National Day For Kids, Atlanta Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta have teamed up with Bandai America to give away 17,000 Tamagotchi “virtual pet” toys to kid-campers.  250 kids gathered at the Warren/Holyfield Boys & Girls Club for this special celebration and each received their very own Tamagotchi toy.

A life-size Tamagotchi costume character was on-hand to help the Boys & Girls Club members celebrate while teaching kids how to stay active! This event is part of the national program the Boys & Girls Club of America has launched with Bandai America, giving away more than half a million dollars in toys to kids at Boys & Girls Clubs all over the country.

Held annually, National Day for Kids was established to encourage adults and children to spend meaningful time together.
