Director Q & A

Q & A with the Executive Director – Kevie Dixon

Why Boys & Girls Club

I started off volunteering many years ago at Boys & Girls Club during the summer months. It was a great place to give back to the community. I had a great experience with the youth and the programs that we ran. The influence was great because of the relationships and teamwork within the Club family.

Who Influenced Me

As a kid, I was highly influenced by my grandparents and my coaches. Also, I most highly praise Mr. Al McElroy, Mr. James Perkins, my high school coach, Billy Clearman, and my college coach Mr. Steve Rives.

Advice for our Youth

The advice I would share with any youth is to be great. Live your dreams and fight hard for what you want.  Develop a level of discipline that will enable you to succeed and to accomplish your endeavors. Everyone has a purpose in life and so do you.

Our Impact in the Community

The Club has made a great impact in our community. For over 20 years, hundreds and thousands of relationships have been fostered. Many of these relationships have developed through peer to peer, staff to staff, parent and community relationships. Since the summer of 1996, I have witnessed great things happen for our youth.

What Makes Our Club Special

Our Club is a special place because of the relationships that we have created. The staff and the atmosphere that we have created is kid friendly and family-oriented. This is a place where everyone is somebody.
