Brief History
During 1995, a dynamic lady named Jackie Bates organized a group of citizens in the small town of Paulding County. She explained what opportunities were possible to help single parents, low-income families, and how the community could provide a much needed service for our at-risk youth through chartering a club affiliated with the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta. Jackie was very influential and had great support from Paulding citizens, the leadership of Chris Houtchens, and many people who helped in working on this project:
Johnny Helms, Harry Keener, Faye Witt, Brenda Paris, Beverly Cockran, John Cox, Jane DeFoor, Lynne Turner, Shirley Smith, Jim Henson, Jana Stegall, Beth Spears, Vicki Fulbright, and countless others.
On May 4, 2000, Paulding County finally received its charter as Paulding County Boys & Girls Club. This is a piece of history which cannot begin to recount every person who has helped along the way in making our club "a place where promise lives" for young people.

* We understand that some high schools require students to complete a minimum number of community service hours for graduation. We do offer some limited volunteer opportunities for students who are interested in performing their service with Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta.
